Microsoft Office 4.x
Category: Abandoned Office versions
Microsoft Office is a suite of office applications from Microsoft. This includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and newer versions of Mail, Office Manager and Outlook. The "1.x" versions of Microsoft Office were simply a marketing package including stand-alone products sold together without other package changes. Although they were separate applications and not one monolithic program, they had a similar user interface that was well integrated with each other.

MS Office was initially released on Macintosh, but quickly became a de facto office package for Windows 3.x. Microsoft Office competed with many other office packages, including Lotus Smartsuite, Borland / WordPerfect / Corel Office and Star Office.

Microsoft Office 4.0 includes Word 6.0, Excel 4.0a, PowerPoint 3.0, Microsoft Mail and Microsoft Office Manager. Buyers of this version received a coupon to upgrade to Excel 5.0 and PowerPoint 4.0 because they were available soon after. Microsoft Office 4.0 is a version of Microsoft Office released in 1993. It is a successor to Office 92 (3.0).
