Lubuntu is a project that is an official derivative of the Ubuntu operating system. By using a graphical environment, LXDE is lighter, less resource intensive and more energy efficient. The LXDE desktop uses an Openbox window manager, has low hardware requirements and is designed for netbooks, mobile devices and older computers. Lubuntu is one of the lightest versions of Ubuntu, and still maintains today's standards in terms of appearance and usage.

If you are looking for a Linux distribution that is not outdated and does not have high requirements, you can try to install Lubuntu on your older computers or laptops. They will certainly get a second life with this lightweight version of Ubuntu.
