Linux Debian
Category: Popular distributions
Debian is a free GNU/Linux and GNU/kFreeBSD operating system distribution project run by volunteers around the world. Inside Debian, there are also projects to develop a GNU/Hurd distribution, other varieties of BSD, and even a free software distribution for the Windows platform.

Debian has a reputation for being a stable system with high quality and easy to upgrade. Because of its commitment to quality and security, new stable releases are relatively rare, and there are often delays in releasing them. It is also one of the most extensive versions of Linux, which has about 20,000 packages in its stable version.
